Choosing a pet portrait provider is less about finding the loudest promise on a product page and more about checking whether the work, process and format suit what you actually want. A few practical checks can make comparison considerably easier.
Do not judge a service from one excellent example. Look across several pets, coat colours and expressions. Consistent results tell you more than a single hero image.

Some services specialise in realistic work, others in graphic, contemporary or character-led portraits. Choose a provider because you like the work it actually shows, not because you hope a completely different style will emerge after ordering.
A useful provider should make it reasonably clear what kind of source photograph works for the product. Before ordering, check the current guidance and make sure you have an appropriate image.
Find out whether you are buying a framed print, canvas, digital file or another format, and check the dimensions rather than relying on mock-ups alone. At Paw & Glory you can compare framed pet portraits and canvas portraits.
Production, delivery, proofing, returns and amendment policies can change. Read the provider's current product and policy information rather than relying on an old blog post or social-media comment.
If the photo is unusual, the order is a gift or you have a question about format, check that there is a clear way to contact the business before paying.
“Premium”, “bespoke” and “professional” are easy words to print. The portfolio, clear product information and suitability for your photograph are much more useful evidence.
