Personalised Pet Pillow Size Guide: 12, 18 or 22 Inches?

12 × 12 inches: compact accent

The smallest option works well on an armchair, desk chair or as part of a larger cushion arrangement. A close single-pet crop usually reads more clearly than a busy multi-pet composition at this size.

18 × 18 inches: versatile everyday size

An 18-inch square is a familiar sofa-cushion scale and gives the pet artwork more room without dominating the furniture. It is a sensible middle ground for most single-pet designs.

22 × 22 inches: larger statement cushion

The largest size gives multi-pet artwork, elaborate costumes and wider compositions more breathing room. It can work particularly well on a large sofa or bed where a 12-inch cushion would look slightly lost and emotionally unsupported.

Match crop to size

Small details become less visible on a smaller cushion. If you choose 12 inches, favour a clear face or head-and-shoulders composition. With 22 inches, a wider crop can still remain legible.

Measure a cushion you already own

If you are unsure, measure an existing cushion that looks right on the furniture. Compare its dimensions directly with 12, 18 and 22 inches. This is particularly useful for gifts when you know the recipient’s room but have no desire to arrive with a cushion approximately the size of a satellite dish.
