    One Pet or Multiple Pets on a Personalised Pet Mug?

    One pet usually gives a personalised mug the clearest, largest portrait, while two or more pets work best when the reference photos are strong and the composition stays simple. The mug is not a billboard. At some point, adding every animal simply turns them into a tiny committee.

    Choose one pet for maximum face detail

    A single pet can fill more of the printable area, so eyes, markings and expression remain easier to see. This works particularly well with a close headshot or costume portrait.

    Two pets can still read clearly

    Two-pet designs can work very well when both faces are similarly clear and the artwork keeps them close together. If one pet is much larger in real life, decide whether you want to preserve some scale difference or use a more symmetrical layout.

    Three or more pets need cleaner reference photos

    As more animals are added, each face becomes smaller. Use high-quality references with similar angles where possible and avoid unnecessary background clutter.

    You can use separate photos

    The pets do not have to appear together in one original photograph. Separate images can be useful when each clearly shows the face and markings.
